UPCOMING DATES

Ashley Nakanishi will be hosting “LIVE” Facebook and Instagram readings for bookstores near you from 2021-2022.
Nakanishi will not be booking in-person performances, tours, or workshops until 2022 due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Artist. Author. Theatrical Beast.

When she isn’t in a classroom you may find her facilitating creative writing workshops and "community growth” projects on and off island.

If she’s on stage: is she performing a poem or acting in a play?

Or perhaps she is looking crazed in her painting frocks as she is building costumes, sets, and props backstage.

But most likely, you’ve seen her posting dope memes or out and about with her kids and dogs — juggling life like the rest of the world.

Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can be used to empower and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity.” - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
